At TEFAF 2026, Flavio Gianassi presents a curated selection of Italian paintings and sculpture from the fourteenth to the sixteenth century, combining rigorous scholarship with distinguished provenance. Highlights include Domenico Puligo’s , alongside works by Fra Bartolomeo, Neri di Bicci, Andrea Boscoli, and important Trecento masters.

Flavio Gianassi presents a distinguished selection of Italian Old Master paintings, with a special focus on works from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance including significant artworks with notable provenance, offering insight into the historical importance and artistic legacy of these masterpieces.

Four Screaming Heads by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and an imposing Crucifixion by the giottesque painter Giovanni da Rimini are among the works presented by Flavio Gianassi on the occasion of his first participation in the Biennale Internazionale dell’Antiquariato of Florence, which, having reached its 33rd edition, is confirmed as one of the most important events dedicated to Italian art.

This edition questions the profound meaning of equilibrium, a state of calm that emerges from the balance of forces. A concept that crosses numerous fields – from science to economics, from politics to biology, from social and psychological sphere to art.

But is achieving this balance really synonymous with justice and fairness?

The exhibition Breasts, curated by Carolina Pasti, showcase the works of more than thirty emerging and established artists from around the world, spanning the fields of painting, sculpture, photography and film from the 1500s to the present day. 

On the occasion of TEFAF Maastricht Flavio Gianassi presented a selection of Italian artworks ranging from the 14th to the 16th century, thus covering three centuries of art history, most of them connected with other panels currently in Museums, like the exceptional polyptych by Cecco di Pietro.

Metamermoria, the art of memory, is the theme of the XI edition of Flashback and investigated the conscious use of the memory for the exercise of life.

The art of memory is the "inner writing and painting". Memory is what constitutes our personal cultural baggage and being aware of it, is what makes us capable of facing our present.

The theme of the 10th edition of Flashback is HE.ART, a term that comes from the elaboration of heart and which already magically contains the word art within it. The heart is a muscular organ, which constitutes the motor center of the circulatory system, the driving force.

The Free Zone is a project aimed at the creation of critical sense; a heterogeneous system of information which is useful to provide elements on analysis and knowledge for the creation of collectors, critics, historian and curators and more generally individuals that can interpret their own contemporaneity. In this sense, Flashback represents the opportunity of utilizing the existing for one’s own present because knowledge is what allow us to choose.

An imaginary journey that wants to cross Italy from North to South.

The oldest artwork is a female white marble head (I-II century AD), with its ideal beauty.

Two paintings on copper by Franz de Paula Ferg, an 18th-century Austrian painter, pay homage to the Italian popular culture that with its festivals and dances were a source of inspiration for the painters from across the Alps. A further homage to Italian culture is the Leda and Swan, from Picture in the Junk (2009), by Vik Muñoz, who uses trash to create artworks inspired by old masters, as in this case, by Leonardo.
